Die Zusammenstellung bezieht sich auf die aktuelle Gesamtsituation und Weltlage. Die Künstler setzen sich mit diversen Aspekten des technologischen, geopolitischen und kulturellen Wandels auseinander.
Dabei unterscheiden sich die Ausgangspunkte: Bei Doris Frohnapfel ist es die globale Kommunikationsinfrastruktur, bei Jürgen Stollhans die Identitätssuche, bei Antonius Höckelmann geht es um das nomadische Verständnis von Freiheit und bei Dmitri Prigov um anthropologische Zusammenhänge und um die Existenz innerhalb eines ideologiegeprägten Systems.
Die Kunstwerke stammen aus verschiedenen kunsthistorischen Kontexten und es entsteht dennoch eine stimmige Erzählung — eine Erzählung von Macht und In-/Transparenz der Informationsflüsse, von Abhängigkeiten und Autarkie der globalisierten Kommunikation, von dem großen Kampf um Medium und Botschaft.
The selected works refer to the current world situation. The artists deal with various aspects of technological, geopolitical and cultural changes.
The starting points differ: for Doris Frohnapfel it is the global communication infrastructure, for Jürgen Stollhans — search for identity, for Antonius Höckelmann it is the nomadic understanding of freedom and for Dmitri Prigov — anthropological contexts and existence within an ideology-driven system.
The artworks come from different art historical contexts and yet a coherent narrative emerges — a narrative of power and in/transparency of information flows, of dependencies and autarky of globalised communication, of the great struggle for the medium and the message.
